An interesting read with some flashback scenes set to develop the character relationship, Sam Crescent manages to create a reasonably enjoyable story that is full of some sexy imagery as the two main characters battle over a question.
Hope is a submissive who also happens to be Simon's personal assistant. Not long after her being hired, the two encounter one another at a well-known BDSM club Simon claimed her as his instantly, and the two have carried a weekend-only relationship with no sexual touch or talk at work for about the last year. She is insecure, worked about her figure and weight, and spent too much time listening to the other subs she encountered at the club and their thoughts on Simon. Simon is completely enamored of her, yet rather than tell her in words, he seeks to show her in his protective, caring and pleasure he brings.
Character development relies on the insertion of the flashbacks to establish the connection and present a believable story, but Hope's dogged insistence that he will tire of her gets old, quickly. From her first visit to the club, to the last scene there is little to no interaction that would enforce her beliefs, and while she often is telling us she loves him, the real sense and emotion isn't there. On either side. In fact, the question on the table seems to be the one reason for the story, trying to turn what could be a super-hot and sexy alternative relationship into something more palatable for those who want a HEA. Which even from the opening sentence it was a reach for me to believe it.
Sexually, the scenes are often steamy with plenty of visual description and interior voicing to set the scenes and provide excitement, and while there is nothing wrong with them in construct, the lack of connection to the characters kept this as an ok read for me neither wonderful nor bad.

It started off great but then took this strange turn almost half way through into the truly strange and unbelievable. And a totally contrived separation between the H/h. I was also annoyed at how often the h character weight was mentioned, there really is no need to constantly mentioned she bigger than average.
